It’s not just the statistics of the European Union, attributing to women very small percentages of representation in the sectors of VET, STEM, energy efficiency and renewable energy, i.e., all that has to do with net-zero industry that drove us to get thrilled about the perspective of a project like STAR Girls… but mainly that inner deep desire as – former girls – to be able to put some bricks on that “bridge” that all current girls with a strong potential in science will step upon to be led to a brighter future!

Voices for Change
Mentoring is a two-way process: students gain confidence and clarity about their future, while mentors sharpen their coaching skills and gain fresh insights from the next generation.
In the STAR Girls project, Firda is proud to lead the development of the mentoring programme that will connect girls in vocational education with inspiring women in the sustainable and clean energy sector.
“In vocational education, clean energy and STEM courses still remain male-dominated, though interest from women, particularly from Brazil and Mexico, is gradually rising. While explicit barriers are diminishing, subtle biases and underestimation of women and foreigners persist in both classrooms and workplaces globally.”
From the most passionate advocates, to the shiest countagious groups, “Voices for Change” is an open-space for anyone with the heart in the right place.
STAR Girls in a nutshell
On the 12th and 13th of June, STAR Girls’ consortium gathered in Rafina, Greece to jointly set a strategy for an impactful, inclusive and sustainable action of the project. The focus of discussion, however, was beyond the scope of initiative to accommodate group reflexions on professional and personal views on gender roles and stereotypes.
Easy to say that the values of the project truly align with the team’s individual beliefs: diversity, inclusion, democracy, cooperation and collective responsibility.
